The Historic Preservation Society of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society Board of Trustees presented the 2013 Community Revitalization Award to Girard Historical Society at its annual awards program June 18. Girard Historical Society members, from left, are Roselyn Gadd, Roberta Lawrentz, Mary Anne Creatore, and Colette and Ralph Chuey. The award was for the group’s work for restoration, reconstruction and preservation of the Henry Barnhisel House in Girard, which is open to the public on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
