Members of the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown are planning their annual Legislative Brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday at Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive. The event is open to the public, and the program will feature issues of school finance and reform of Congress and the Senate. Admission will be $22.50 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Ballet Western Reserve will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 20 at St. Patrick Church hall, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. Ballet company dancers, in front from left, Maeli Foley, Izzy Aey and Jena Styka, hold pasta, a poster and serving dish. In back are parent guild members, Lisa Foley, left, and Anna Aey. Adult dinners will be $7, YSU students with identification and 3- to 12-year-olds cost $5 and those under 3 eat free. Take-out orders will be available. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at Ballet Western Reserve. There also will be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle and bake sale. All proceeds go to Ballet Western Reserve.

The Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown recently honored two members of its Youth Gardening Program. Dave Causer, program coordinator, presented certificates to 9-year-old Greta Graffius, left, and Katelynne, McHugh, 12, for their third place finishes in the national sunflower growing contest.
