St. Vindent de Paul Society and Knights of Columbus Council 13586 are hosting the annual Winter Wonderland Gala fundraiser Feb. 16 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. Hors d’oeurves and cocktails will be at 6 p.m. with a cash bar available, and dinner will be served at 7. More than $3,000 in cash and prizes will be given away throughout the evening. There also will be live, silent and basket auctions and entertainment by Fast Freddie of 93.3. Casey Malone will be the master of ceremonies. The Mahoning Valley Wall of Honor is a portable memorial recognizing local service members killed in action during the Vietnam War and Iraq/Afghanistan wars. The name, year of birth and year of casualty is printed on a bronze plate to honor each soldier from Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. It will be on display through Feb. 15 at the Niles S.C.O.P.E. Center, 14 E. State St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Donations may be made at the visit so another wall can be built acknowledging local soldiers killed in action in the Korean War and World War II. American Legion Howland Post 700 is the sponsor.
