SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR On Dec. 21 members of Fitch High School’s Interact Club donated time from their Christmas break to collect money for the Salvation Army at the Austintown Plaza. Members greeted patrons at the post office with a hearty Merry Christmas and opened doors for the customers. Some of those who donated their time were, from left, Justin Shaunesey, Ben Burney and Alison Rein.

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Vocal Alliance Barbershop Quartet, a part of the Stephen Foster Chorus of Warren, provided musical entertainment and comedy for the Austintown Friends of the Library during its Dec. 21 Christmas party. Friends program chairman Doug Wilcox invited the group and a luncheon followed their performance. Hitting all the right notes were Jack Foley, left; John McCaughan, director of the chorus; Ray Pelyhes; and Jack Martin. The next meeting of the Austintown Friends will begin at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 with speaker Dr. Donna DiBlasio of the Youngstown Steel Museum. Guests are welcome.
