St. Vincent de Paul Society recently sponsored its 2013 Winter Gala Fundraiser at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. St. Joseph Church of Austintown was presented with the President’s Award for outstanding service and dedication to the society. Brian J. Antal, left, society president, presented the award to the Rev. Gregory Fedor, right, pastor of St. Joseph's, and Tom Williams, president of St. Joseph's St. Vincent de Paul Society. The award is presented annually to an individual, parish or organization that has shown outstanding service and dedication to the society for an extended period.

Several thousand puzzle pieces were used during Autism Society of Ohio’s Puzzlemania at the OH WOW! Children’s Center in downtown Youngstown. The puzzle-building competition Sunday was designed to raise awareness about autism during Autism Awareness Month. Proceeds benefited educational and support programs for the organization.
