SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
The Links Inc. Youngstown Chapter sponsored a tour of the Butler Institute of American Art as the culmination of Black History Month. It featured the viewing of a portrait of the late Dr. Luther June Shipmon, father of Link president, Krishmu Shipmon. The work was done by Al Bright, the husband of Virginia Banks-Bright and brother-in-law of Glenda Newell Harris, Link national vice president. Other art by notables in Black History dated back to the Civil War era. The tour included Connecting Links, Heir-o-Links, friends of Links and Alumnae members. Alumna Link Joanne Blunt, docent of the museum,
facilitated the tour. Shown with the Links Banner are Sterling Williams; Al Bright; Joanne Blunt; Martha Jones; Margaret Staples; Juanita Williams; Virginia Banks-Bright; Janice Beachum, vice president; Sarah Brown-Clark; Krishmu Shipmon, president; Anne Cobbin; and Charlie Staples.
