The Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center of Boardman raised more than $1,700 for Make A Wish Foundation through its 5K event Aug. 11 at the Kirk Road Bike Trail in Canfield. More than 100 participated in the 5K run, 2-mile walk and Kids Fun Run. The youngest was 21⁄2 years old and the oldest was 78. The overall men’s winner was Fletcher Dunham, 17, of Boardman; women’s winner was Heidi Hoffman, 14, of McDonald; Mason Janis, 6, of Canfield won the 3-7 division of Kids Fun Run; and Danielle Williams, 11, of Sandy Lake, Pa., won the age 8-13 division. Dr. Ted Suzelis, N.D., owner of the fitness center, and fitness trainer JoAnne Maloney organized the event. Co-sponsors were Healthy Treasures, Fitness with JoAnne, Massage Cafe, Arbonne, The Vindicator, Marucci Chiropractic Wellness Center, Spirit Fluid LLC, New Hope Imaging and Questar Inc. Other businesses donated gift baskets and gift certificates for the basket auction, and Massage Cafe gave complimentary massages to participants.
