VINDICATOR FILE PHOTO...The Paramount Theater, downtown Youngstown, reopened in the former Liberty Theater in July 1929 when the city had a bustling downtown anchored by two major department stores, a host of other retail shops and several theaters. This 1956 line to get into the West Federal Street theater stretched around the corner past Fanny Farmer Candies onto Hazel Street. In the hey-dey of motion pictures, block-long queues were standard at all the downtown theaters most Saturdays and Sundays.
