Sharon Houser, left, Ray O’Neill and Susan George tour the Barnhisel Home during a recent open house weekend. O’Neill served as a costumed guide. Open houses are 1 to 5 p.m. today, Sunday, and Dec. 8 and 9. The theme is “Christmas Trees Through the Ages” with decorated trees using ornaments from late 1800s to 1960s. Among them are a feather tree, aluminum tree, nature tree, Coka Cola tree, Victorian trees and an old economy tree with 3-D paper ornaments. Refreshments and music will be provided as well as guides in period dress. Calendars for 2013 and note cards will be available for purchase. Donations are welcome.
