Students from Struthers High School Interact Club attended a recent Rotary District 6650 Interact Conference in Salem. More than 100 students and advisers attended including students from Austintown, Canfield, Howland, Salem, Warren, East Palestine and Columbiana. Interact is Rotary International’s service club for 12- to 18-year-olds. They are self-governing and self-supporting. Youngstown State senior Damian Eargle (21) passed the 1,000-point milestone last week against James Madison, the same game in which he broke YSU’s career blocks record.
McKayla Gaus, a ninth-grader at Austintown Fitch High School, sorts through apples to pull out the bad ones at Hartford Apple Orchard. McKayla was part of a group of Fitch students who came to the orchard Tuesday to learn skills needed to be successful in the workplace.
