Home Savings Charitable Foundation recently donated a check for $5,000 to Akiva Academy in Youngstown to help the school to continue offering learning programs to an ever-widening range of students. Last year 100 percent of Akiva’s third- graders scored proficient or higher on the reading and math Ohio Achievement Tests. Students at Akiva enjoyed an educational visit from Home Savings. Adults, standing from left, are Tirtza Kohan, first-grade teacher and Judaic studies coordinator at Akiva; Rachel Smith, customer service representative of Home Savings Liberty office; and Kim Gennaro, branch manager of Home Savings Liberty office.
