Northeast Ohio Adoption Services recently accepted a $134,633 check from the Western Reserve Restaurant Management group, which owns and operates 28 Cuyahoga and Lorain County Wendy’s restaurants. The donation, raised through the annual sale of $1 Valentine Fun Pack coupon booklets at Wendy’s locations, including the top-selling store in Amherst, Ohio, brought the total contribution raised over 12 years to $1,113, 285. Accepting a “Thanks a Million” plaque from Cary Sanders, NOAS permanency planning supervisor, and NOAS Board of Trustees chairman Dennis Lewis Jr., is Carrie Bowlsby (center), the Amherst store general manager.

Ralph Witmer, left, of Columbiana, was recently presented with a certificate of recognition by Steve Knizat, vice president of the Columbiana County Fairboard. Every year, individuals from across the state are recognized for their outstanding support of local fairs during ceremonies at the Ohio Fairs convention in Columbus. Witmer represented the Columbiana Fair with this honor and was thanked by the board for his continued devotion and support of the fair through the years.
