Cub Scouts from Dens 3 and 7 of Hubbard Pack 100 and their Scout leaders, Andy Yoder and Chuck James, above, and many of the parents toured the Hubbard Historical Society’s McBride House on a recent Wednesday night. Group tours can be arranged from times outside the regularly scheduled open house, which is from 2 to 5 p.m. the second Sunday of each month. There is no charge, but donations are accepted. The City of Youngstown and String of Pearls, local chapter of the International Red Hat Society, is announcing the fifth annual International Red Hat Day Luncheon at 10:30 a.m. April 18 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. The annual event attracts upwards of 400 members from Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana and neighboring counties. The group supports the Youngstown Renaissance effort by showcasing the Greater Youngstown area to Red Hat Society members from Northeast Ohio. Planned activities include basket raffles, door prizes, a square dance tutorial and entertainment by the Chaney High School VPA Choir. Preparing for the event are group members, from left, Catherine Leftwich, Earline London, Linda Casey and Audrey Gillian.
