As part of Field Day 2012, Holy Family School students had a chance to dunk their computer/art instructor, Janet Cadman. The event took place on school grounds in Poland, and students also enjoyed bounce-arounds, games, snacks and face painting. Field Day is a tradition at Holy Family School and takes place the day prior to the last day of school. Parents, teachers and seventh-grade students help coordinate the event.

Little Bradley Miller Jr., son of Catherine Cercone and Bradley Miller, helps Tom Baringer, president of Struthers Rotary Club, put the finishing touches on the flag installment at his parents’ house. The Rotary club was busy over the weekend filling flag orders for the Fourth of July. The cost is $25, and the Rotary is still taking orders. Contact any member of Struthers Rotary.

One year has passed since Ed Port, 42, of Austintown, underwent his first surgery as an adult to remove large tumors that obscured much of his face. Two more surgeries followed, and Port expects to have at least two more. Port suffers from neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes large tumors.
