Fairhaven School student Jason Kirksey takes the ball down the court during the first Winter Classic charity basketball game between the Fairhaven School Bulldogs and the Girard High School Indians. The unified format game took place on Jan. 23 at Fairhaven School in Niles and was viewed by students, staff and parents. Cheered on by cheerleaders from both schools, the Girard boys and girls varsity teams and pep band participated in the event, which was coordinated by Girard Principal William Ryser and Carol Kirsch, APE instructor at Fairhaven. After the game, students and staff shared a luncheon donated by Leo’s Ristoranté of Howland.
