Breaking language barrier: Each year the Gamma Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority contributes funds to the English Center of Youngstown. Making the presentation at a recent meeting to Leslie Kiske of Poland, at left, is Betsey White, chapter president, also of Poland. The funds will be used to teach the English language to foreign-speaking adults who are studying to become American citizens. At the meeting Lana Whitehead of Canfield, coordinator and intervention specialist in the Center for Student Progress at Youngstown State University, explained the role of the center in promoting the academic success of YSU students.
