Here’s what’s cookin’: Involved in preparations for an annual spaghetti dinner to be sponsored by Struthers Rotary Club are, from left, Tom Baringer, dinner chairman; Mary Ann Morell, head chef; Don Gabriele, dinner co-chairman; and Bryan Higgins, club president. Assisting them at the event from 3 to 7 p.m. April 2 at St. Nicholas Social Hall, 765 Fifth St., Struthers, will be members of Struthers High School Interact Club and of Boy Scout Troop 101. Meals will be $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12 and proceeds will benefit local community projects.

A pet blessing service will take place during the “Hop Into Spring Vendor Blender” to be sponsored by the Humane Society of Columbiana County as a benefit for abused and neglected pets. Elizabeth Taylor had it all: the violet, almond-shaped eyes, the creamy skin, the pouty lips and raven hair. Of course, there were her Oscars, iconic roles and many husbands, too, but Taylor is indeed most renowned for her beauty. She died Wednesday at age 79 of congestive heart failure.
