A broken switch on a transformer caused power to be lost at Youngstown City Hall. Two backup generators provided electricity for the building though they didn’t help the entire structure. The problem also led city council to cancel its Wednesday meeting.

Between them is Yemma’s mother, Emily. Yemma was selected last week by county Democratic Party precinct committee members to replace Lisa Antonini, who resigned in May after being charged by the federal government with taking and failing to report a $3,000 cash contribution for her 2008 campaign. Yemma, who was chief deputy treasurer, will serve the remainder of Antonini’s term, which expires in September 2013. Yemma has said he will run for a full four-year term next year.
