Boardman police increased its presence at Boardman High School and Glenwood and Center middle schools Tuesday. The change was made after administrators discovered threats written on the wall of a boys restroom stall last Wednesday then heard rumors of a student planning to bring a gun to school Tuesday.

Donald P. Williams Jr. of Austintown appeared in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for a pretrial hearing Tuesday. His attorney, J. Gerald Ingram, at right, says he’ll try to suppress the results of a test done on Williams’ blood. Williams was driving a semi tractor that hit the back of a car containing four Marine Corps recruits and a recruiter. Three of the recruits were killed.

Jobs is taking his second medical leave of absence in two years, raising serious questions about his health and the leadership of a company at the forefront of a personal computing revolution. Apple did not provide any further information about Jobs' current condition, including whether Jobs is acutely ill, whether the leave is related to his 2009 liver transplant or whether he is at home or in a hospital.
