Time for a dance: “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” was the theme for a Valentine’s Day dance at Victoria House Assisted Living Facility, 5295 Ashley Circle, Austintown, where the grand lobby was transformed into “Club Victoria.” After residents were treated to a surf-and-turf dinner, music was provided by Steve Fazzini as special guests and a group of ballroom dancers entertained and danced with the residents. Joining in the festivity, above, was Rosemary Yaworsky, a nurse at Victoria House, whose dance partner is one of the residents, Jack Finn.

Jigsaw puzzles exchanged: Newton Falls Public Library, 204 S. Canal St., encouraged residents to take part in its annual Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange recently at the library. New or gently used jigsaw puzzles were taken to the library, then those donating puzzles later returned to the library to select “new to you” puzzles. The winner of a drawing at the exchange was George Chepke, above. He and his wife, Pat, picked up the three puzzles and puzzle mat he won at the event.

Skis the limit: The Warren Ski Club will present a beerfest and auction from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 11 at McMenamy’s Restaurant, 325 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Admission to the auction is free. Beer-tasting samples will be available for $10 from five Ohio microbrewers: Great Lakes, Rust Belt, Ohio, Thirsty Dog and Willoughby Brewers. There also will be a cash bar. Part of the proceeds will benefit Three Trackers of Ohio, an all-volunteer group that promotes adaptive recreational sports for those with physical disabilities.
