Above, displaying a San Francisco 49ers football and helmet that will be among the auction items at the Mardi Gras are, from left, Denise DeBartolo York, owner of the 49ers; Ted Schmidt, PNC regional president; Liz McGarry, Hospice director of development; and Ryan Pastore, PNC director of client and community relations. Below, culinary art students at Choffin Career and Technical Center were asked to make King Cakes for the party. Cakes, made from two different recipes, were sampled and voted on by McGarry and Terrance Escarco of Hospice and the students. Standing behind Dasia’n Square, who is holding a cake baked from the winning recipe, are, from left, Charles Crosby, Myeila Carter, Tre Little, James Donaldson and Darryl Kempson.
