Members of the Youngstown Area Weavers Guild met recently to make baskets for the needy. The hand-woven creations were then filled with personal care items and donated to The Way Station in Columbiana County. Members who helped with the project, left to right: Nancy Marshall; Sally Macklin; Lois Romito; Nina Winchester; Liz Andrazo, guild president; Carolyn Furnish; Mary Furguson; and Felicia MacMillan. The guild also collected gloves and hats for various charities and toys for the local Toys for Tots campaign.

Patricia Burges-Fisher, a docent with the Niles Historical Society, makes final adjustments to the Christmas decorations at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St., Niles. The museum will be open for a final viewing on New Year’s Day from 2 to 5 p.m. Department 56 houses and toys are mingled among old tree decorations and many other items.
