Community Pride Award: Upton Association Board members Sally Mazer, left, and Sue Olson proudly hold the association’s latest award, presented by the Warren Area Board of Realtors. The Upton Association was chosen for the Community Pride Award for its efforts in creating and maintaining the Women’s Park in Warren, directly across from Upton House, which is at 380 Mahoning Ave NW. Elaine Kollar of Coitsville explains that for the past few years a pair of Mallard ducks have visited their home in the spring. They like the pond that forms at the back of the property from spring rains. With so much rain this year, there are puddles near their house and birdfeeder. The ducks waddle up to the house from the back pond and enjoy the small puddles as well as eat birdseed that has fallen to the ground.

At a recent NSS Assembly 731 Easter Egg Hunt at the Poland Township Park, 2-year old cousins Samantha Cannon and Brady Lewis found dancing in the puddles from this year's April showers to be more fun than the Egg Hunt.
