DeAnne Bunevich, child-life specialist at Akron Children’s Hospital, accepts a donation of books from Girl Scout Troop 420 of Canfield. Bunevich said she suggested that the troop donate small, chunky pictures books with cardboard pages for younger children.

With remnants of furniture littering the pavement, a Trenton Avenue house sits vacant just two blocks from the residence of Thomas J. Repchic. Repchic was fatally wounded Saturday afternoon in a drive-by shooting nearby. His wife, Jacqueline, was shot in the leg and survived.
