Under the guidance of their troop leader, Vicki Palmer, members of Girl Scout Troop 420 of Canfield, discussed what to do with the money they earned selling Girl Scout cookies. The girls, all third-graders, came up with the idea to buy books for kids in the hospital. The troop contacted a local wholesaler about purchasing $100 worth of books. The wholesaler responded with a box full of donated books. The books will be donated to Akron Children’s Hospital of Mahoning Valley at 4:45 p.m. Monday. The girls are, front, from left to right, Peyton Munera, Holly Eberly and Abby Palmer. In the back are Julie Porterfield, Ella Mitchell, Grace Ramun, Libby Finsen, Anna Dudash, and Emily Porterfield. Missing from the picture is another of the 10 troop members, Zoe Guzman.
