Costas and Lariccia are chairwomen of a fundraiser that will take place at MVR Restaurant on Oct. 5, and Cassese is a member of the family that runs MVR.

Craft show in Niles: The Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center will sponsor a craft show from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at the center, 14 E. State Street. Tables are available for $10, and local crafters are welcome to participate. The show also will feature the Niles Art Class as well as the Monday Quilters Group. Above, Shirley Dull, left, and Evelyn Stillwagon work on a new quilt in preparation for the show. Proceeds from the event will go toward a new quilting frame for the group. ‘Junk in the Trunk’ sale: The newly formed Winona Area Historical Society will sponsor its first fundraiser, a “Junk in the Trunk” sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 9, rain or shine, at Hall Park, Whinnery Road. Among those preparing for the event with a trunk load of goods above are, from left, Myrtle Bailey; Robert Brandt, vice president; Derek Coffee, president; and Sheila Jackson, secretary/treasurer. Interested vendors can request a registration form by contacting the WAHS at wahsohio@gmail.com or by calling 330-222-1136 or 330-332-9606. The $20 fee reserves a vending spot for cars, trucks or vans with sellers providing their own tables and chairs. Food and refreshments will be available.
