Lindsey Baird stands along a bend in Columbiana Road (County Road 62) near the intersection with Kibler Road. Baird lives at the curve and is concerned about the number of accidents at that location — five crashes this year, one of them fatal. Over Baird’s shoulder is a memorial for Matthew A. Timmins, 22, who died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident at the bend Sept. 26.

Class of ’50: Pretty nifty!
The Rayen School Class of 1950 celebrated its 60th class reunion on Sept. 19 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Forty-two classmates attended, some coming from as far away as Florida and Texas, as well as various Ohio cities. In the first row, from left to right, are Ida Adams, Gwendolyn Sitgraves, Louise Hayes, Ralph D’Onofrio, Jean Williams, Florene Rouse, Elaine Raiger, Doris Giancola, Theresa Menosky, Betty Slovasky, Jean Dutko, Betty Johnson, Sarah Tabachino, Florence Bevilacqua, Gertrude Jackson, and Bill Rice. In the second row are Phyllis Koker, Jane Francykowski, Robert Washington, George Adams, Carlotta Fercana, Eugene Tareshawty, Olga Drahuschak, Rita Guglielm, Dorothy Filaccio, Louise Miller, Betty Grischow, Mary Lou Schmidt, Paul Schmidt, John Giannini and Fred Johnson.
