Youngstown Rotary Club sponsored its annual pancake breakfast Nov. 7 at the Ursuline High School cafeteria. This was one of the many fundraisers to help the Rotary Foundation with various projects for the coming year. The Ursuline High School Interact Club, which is a Rotary-sponsored service club, assisted the regular members in serving the all-you-can-eat pancake-and-sausage breakfast. From left are Tairy Colaluca with her grandson, Jermey Colaluca, Rotarian Jeff Byce and Theresa Starr. Rotarians serving are John Slanina and Dr. Bill Cleary.

Victoria House Assisted Living honored its veterans with an evening social on Nov. 10. American Legion Post 301 presented each veteran with a card of thanks and performed a flag-folding ceremony. A wall honoring Victoria House veterans with pictures of the men and women in uniform was a highlight of the evening. Victoria House staff, residents and family members sang patriotic songs and paid tribute to each veteran. Victoria House has 16 veterans, representing the Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard. Residents pictured are, front row, from left, Margaret Aiello, Joe Brunetti, Frank Carney, Jerry Sanchy, and Jack Finn; and, back, Ray Pugh, John Bagin, Doc Friedrich, Ed Enterline, Glenn Dinger, Jack Griffin, Paul McCann, Joe Sliman and Tom McCarthy.

Eleven members of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1947 met for a luncheon recently at Drake’s Landing, sharing 66 years of friendship.
