They’ve got the heart to help: Mended Hearts Chapter 7, a support group for heart patients and their families, sells nuts for the holidays to raise funds for scholarships for nursing and medical students at Youngstown State University, St. Elizabeth Health Center and Mercy College. Mended Hearts scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each were presented to two YSU nursing students, Alyvia Allegretto, sophomore, and Terra Koontz, senior, by the YSU Foundation. Above, from left, are Patricia Feindt, Mended Hearts scholarship chairwoman, recipients Allegretto and Koontz, and Donald Feindt, Mended Hearts treasurer. The chapter also donates to the endowment fund of Camp Mountain Heart, a cardiac camp in Ripley, W.Va., for children age 8 to 18 who are heart patients.
