Maggie Wagner models an outfit created by Emily Plaskett, designer, from items donated to FrockOn by the Village Discount Outlet on Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown. Wagner walked the runway during a Going Green party May 29 at the Cedars in Youngstown. The party promoted recession chic thrift shopping during tough economic times.

The Greater Youngstown Italian Heritage Foundation and the Greater Youngstown Italian Fest contributed $5,600 to local charities after its festival last year. Above with an oversized check representing the proceeds are 2009 officials, from left, John Rossetti, president; Ray Greco, fest chairman; and Anthony Julian, foundation treasurer.
