Circle K member travels: The guest speaker at the June 9 meeting of Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County was Jessica Ricker, left, president of the Akron Circle K, the college branch of Kiwanis International. The junior, a daughter of Robert and Carol Ricker of Austintown, will attend the Large Scale Service Project July 30-Aug. 3 in St. Louis with Circle K members from around the world. Joining the young speaker at the event was Barbara Smith, president of the Kiwanis Club, who will be a voting delegate at the International Kiwanis Convention June 24-27 in Las Vegas. The club will present $1,000 scholarships to three graduating seniors, Morgan Pinney of North Jackson High School, Nathanaphon Banchorg of Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, and Hayley Herock of Canfield High School.
