Mahoning Valley residents participated in the June 6 Weight Watchers Walk-It Day to encourage people to get active and to walk a 5K. The event took place at Mill Creek MetroParks Bikeway in Canfield. The nationwide initiative is part of the Weight Watchers Walk-It Challenge, which kicked off this spring, emphasizing the importance of physical activity. Throughout the challenge, visitors to www.weightwatchers.com/walkit enjoyed access to motivational tips, encouragement from fellow walkers and tools to find a walking team in their areas. On the first Walk-It Day, Weight Watchers teamed up with the Road Runners Club of America, a national association of running clubs dedicated to promoting exercise.
