Judi Ebert, of Boardman, stands alongside a parking lot full of snow covered buses, after picking up her paycheck at the Youngstown Board of Education's Bus Depot on Friday afternoon. Ebert, a nine year veteran driver, and her fellow drivers had the day off on Friday with all or nearly all of Mahoning County's schools closed due to snow fall and freezing conditions. Despite having the day off, after picking up her check, Ebert was off to shuttle her friends children to the YMCA despite having the day off.

Special to The Vindicator GIVE AND TAKE: Youngstown Links Inc. asked each invited guest to take a toy to its eighth annual Gift Giving Luncheon on Dec. 6 at Fellows Riverside Gardens. The toys were donated to worthy organizations for distribution to children during the holidays. Those accepting the donated items were the Rev. Hosea Ekong for the Operation Learning Community Program, Dr. Ruth Quarles for Women Hand In Hand, and Doug Wentz for Safe House, Phoenix Court and Emory House operated by Meridian Services.
