Special to The Vindicator MECHANICALLY INCLINED: The 1970 graduating class of Choffin Vocational School auto mechanics celebrated its 40th reunion Jan. 31 at the Marshall Estates in Poland. Eleven of the 18 graduates attended, and one visited by telephone. Also present was the instructor, John “Jack” Vasko. From left to right, first row, are Tom Mraz, Ron Musgrove Sr., and Gene Yusko; second row: Denny Furman, Edward Fenskie, Vasko and Ray Marshall; and third row: Rick Scenna, Joe Timkovich, Mike Donnaurnmo and Bob Glasser. Cliff Colwell, who visited by phone, Glasser, Marshall, Mraz and Musgrove were all from Chaney High School; Fenskie and Furman were from South High; Donnaurnmo and Yusko were from Wilson; Timkovich was from North; and Scenna was from Rayen. During the 1960s and ’70s, students were hand-picked by Choffin Vocational instructors from the many Youngstown schools for the privilege of learning their vocation. The class is planning another reunion and is missing contact information for some classmates. If you haven’t been contacted, or know someone who hasn’t, get in touch with one of the men above.
