Youngstown Lions Club celebrated its 90th annual Christmas party for visually impaired and special-needs children recently at the Saxon Club in Youngstown. Funding for the party was provided by generous sponsors of the Youngstown Lions annual Turtle Derby, its only fundraiser. About 120 children from Chaney, Leonard Kirtz, East, McGuffey, P. Ross Berry, Southside Academy and Volney Rogers schools attended. The children ate turkey dinners and sang Christmas carols. The highlight was a visit from Santa. He and his helpers gave each child a gift bag that included a scarf, hat, gloves, candy and a gift.
