Meals to be thankful for: Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County provided 100 Thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate in the Mahoning Valley during the recent holiday. The turkeys and all the trimmings, fruit, desserts and breakfast items were purchased and assembled at the Henry Nemenz IGA on Meridian Road. Looking over some of the items before they were distributed by Kiwanis members or taken to the Saxon Club to be picked up by recipients are, from left, Kiwanians Tom Eisenbraun, lieutenant governor of Division 21, and Steve Marshall, interclub chairman. Funds to support the annual project were contributed by the Kiwanis clubs of Youngstown and Western Mahoning County and included a $1,000 grant from the District Kiwanis Foundation.
