Research rewarded: An educational program on research was presented at a recent Alzheimer’s Assistance and Referral Network meeting at Boardman Public Library by Mary Ann Oakley, education and information core coordinator, and Beth Sarles, clinical core staff, from the University of Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. At the close of their program a check for $4,500 to further study at the research center is presented by Dorothy Barto, network director, to Oakley, left, as Sarles watches.

Ward-Thomas Museum in Niles features a number of miniature city scenes for the public to view, including this one of famed New York City landmarks, such as Yankee Stadium; the Flatiron Building; Times Tower, where the glass ball drops to ring in the new year; Radio City Music Hall complete with some Rockettes dancing; and the Ed Sullivan Theater.
