Youngsters help raise funds: The Prince and Princess of New Middletown contest was open to children between the ages of 4 and 6 who live there. Contestants collecting the most votes at $1 each were named the Prince and Princess and served as grand marshals Aug. 3 at the National Night Out Parade in New Middletown. As winners of the contest , Princess Olivia Helmick and Prince Mike Landsberger, both 5, also presented a symbolic check for the $1,653.42 raised in the contest to Jo Ann Stock, director of development at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, who accepted the check on behalf of the hospital. Parents of the royal couple are Crystal and Steve Helmick and Stacie and Joseph Landsberger. The contest was sponsored by the Sparkle Market, Village Pharmacy, George’s Party Pak, and the Dairy Queen, and coordinated by Kerri Barnard of the Hair Galleria.
