Letting them know: They’re worth it: Mariellen Rich, center, recently presented 30 copies of “You Are Worth the World” books to the children at Easter Seals, along with a poster. Rich is a member of Angels of Easter Seals. You Are Worth the World is a project that helps local children at Casa Madre, in Kenya and at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md., who are affected by HIV/AIDS. Casa Madre is a respite house run by the Ursuline Sisters for kids with HIV or AIDS. The book is meant to inspire the children to realize their importance in the world and the awareness of the beauty around them. Children from Easter Seals, Kenya and the NIHA illustrated the book. For a new book by Rich, “Freckles the Fabulous Fish,” the children of Easter Seals are doing the illustrations. On Rich’s right is Amanda Auriemma, Easter Seals staff member, on her left is staff member Pam Rainey, and behind Rich is staff member Heather Cominsky.
