Work is underway at U.S. Route 422, Belmont Avenue and Wirt Street, Youngstown, on a $10.6 million Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 project to resurface and replace guardrail on state Route 193 from Crescent Street to U.S. 422 and on U.S. 422 from Route 193 to Belmont.

Lowellville native John Mirich, pictured above in his senior portrait and while enlisted as an Army Specialist 5, will be honored by the American Legion Post 247 next week. Mirich was killed in a helicopter crash during the Vietnam War.

This is John Mrakusic’s bedroom as it appeared Saturday after a car ran into his brick ranch house at 525 Cynthia Drive in Campbell. Three of the car’s occupants died in the 5 a.m. crash.
