SWEARING-IN: James Willock Jr. is administered his oath as police chief of Mill Creek MetroParks by Mahoning County Probate Court Judge Mark Belinky. Willock officially was named chief during a ceremony Wednesday at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens.

JOB FAIR: YSU Students and alumni turned out Wednesday for the Expo. Despite the status of the local economy, recruiters from nearly 70 companies representing a wide variety of employment opportunities participated in the event, arranged by YSU’s Career and Counseling Services.

A HAPPY SITE: Joe Kaluza comes to Ivanhoe Avenue to see the site for his new home. Ground was broken Wednesday for the house, which will be disabled-accessible. Kaluza, the former manager at a KFC restaurant on South Avenue, was shot by a robber in March 2008 while he was leaving the store to make a bank deposit. The shooting left him a quadriplegic. Volunteers are building the house.
