Special to The Vindicator HONORED: Members of the Rotary Club of Austintown who have achieved perfect attendance records during the first quarter of the year were honored at the club’s meeting on Oct. 19 at the Saxon Club on Meridian Road. Displaying their attendance certificates are, from left, bottom row, Tony Cebriak, Rachel Solida, Robin Stock and Brian Laraway, club president; middle row, Deanna Spirko and Hillary Prestridge; and top row, Chuck Baker, Gary Reel, Brian Frederick and Dr. Mitch Dalvin. “Why Diets Don’t Work” was the theme of Butch Temnick, who spoke at the meeting and encouraged members to get their weight and blood pressure under control by eating healthful foods.

Special to The Vindicator ADMINISTRATORS: During a meeting Oct. 8 at the Grand Buffet in Boardman, the Kiwanis Club of Boardman installed a slate of officers who will head the organization during the coming year. Accepting the responsibilities of new positions were, from left, front row, Mark Luke, Roy Wright and Pete Gross, directors; and the Rev. Chuck Lundquist, president; and in back, John Finley, director; Rich Santilli, president-elect; and Brad Henderson, treasurer. Also inducted, but not pictured, were Brian George, vice president, and George Yates and George Basista, directors. The club generally meets on Thursdays. Prospective members are welcome.
