HALFWAY HOME: The new home for Joe Kaluza is about halfway finished, and volunteers and working every day to make sure the family is able to move in by mid-December. Don Murphy, who is a part of the group that organized the construction project, said the electric work, plumbing and window work is complete. Workers hung drywall and siding on Thursday and Friday, and landscaping is expected to get underway this weekend.

Special to The Vindicator SERBIAN celebration: The Circle of Serbian Sisters will have their annual Night in Belgrade on Nov. 1 at the Serbian Memorial Hall, 54 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The evening will begin with a buffet dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $15 for adults and $7 for children 6-12. Children under 6 eat free. The cost for the dance only is $10. The buffet will feature ethnic Serbian cuisine, including rice pilaf and cevapcici. Libby Fill Ladies Tamburitzans will entertain with dinner music. Dance music will feature the Vatra Tamburaski Orchestra from Pittsburgh. A Chinese auction and door prizes will also be part of the evening. Make reservations by calling (330) 759-1671. Proceeds will help purchase new altar boy robes and priest vestments.
