CLASS ACT: The student council at St. Joseph Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Austintown conducted a food drive from Nov. 9 to Nov. 20 as a benefit for the less fortunate in this time of economic hardship. Students took nonperishable items or $1 to a drop-off near the school office. Displaying some of the donations are student council members, are, from left, Wesley Pringle, seventh grade, treasurer; Anny Carroll, eighth grade, president; Maddie Sanders, seventh grade, vice president; AnnaMaria Jadue, eighth grade, secretary; and Sharon Machuga, their adviser, who helped organize the food drive. The donations will be distributed on Tuesday to school families and St. Vincent de Paul.
