TWO PURPLE HEARTS: Glenn Buzzard of Hubbard was wounded twice during World War II, the first on Tinian Island and the second on Iwo Jima. He was a member of D Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Regiment, 4th Marine Division all through the war.

Brian Higgins, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, was a recent speaker at the Kiwanis Club, which meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at A La Cart in Canfield. HE’S GOT IT: Frank Susor of Boardman took to the tennis courts in Boardman Park to enjoy spring temperatures in November. He and his playing partner Mike Phelps hit a few balls Monday. The high temperature for Sunday and Monday in the Mahoning Valley passed 70 degrees while the Saturday high was 66. The average high for the area for this time of the year is 51 to 52 degrees.
