Gianna Bindas, 1, wears the purple shirt signifying a cancer survivor, while being held by her mother, Michelle Bindas, both of Poland, and receiving a balloon animal from "Woodee" the Clown, also known as Joe Humansky, of Columbiana, during the Relay For Life at Poland's High School Stadium on Friday evening. Diagnosed at 9 months with a Wilms Tumor, Gianna has since had surgery, 21 weeks of chemotherapy, and despite loosing a kidney, her parents say she is "doing real good."

CRAFTY KIDS: Trumbull Art Gallery in Warren was the setting for Summerfest 2009, which concluded July 1 with a parade and display of crafts at Courthouse Square. During the two-week program, children had the opportunity to create unique arts and crafts. In the top photo, Dante Byrne of Girard displays the guitar he made, while his sister, Francesca Byrne, concentrates on her bead-stringing project. In the bottom photo, Lauren Ulrich of Toledo, at left, and Lauren Kromer of Howland show off the guitars and one-of-a-kind hats they made during the Summerfest. At right in both pictures is Lauren’s mother, Stephanie Kromer, who assisted the young crafters.
