Special to The Vindicator Celebration & Donations: Poland Junior Women’s Club (P.J.W.C.), a nonprofit volunteer group, has sponsored fundraisers throughout the year, worked at the concerts at town hall, and donated time and talents to help the less fortunate in the Poland area. The group, above, organized a Halloween Parade in October and at Thanksgiving time collected food and grocery gift cards that were donated to two families through Poland Food Pantry. In preparation for the Christmas season, the group has been gathering gifts and food for needy families in the area. To round out the holidays, the P.J.W.C., in cooperation with other area community organizations such as Streetscapes, is sponsoring Poland’s “Lighting of the Village” Christmas celebration on Saturday. The event will begin with carols at town hall at 6 p.m., where Santa will arrive at 6:30, and will include a tree lighting at 7, carolers and refreshments.
