I believe that the firefighters already have their memorial before the bridge.
This bridge represents the businesses between Spring Commons Bridge and the Frank Sinkovich Bridges.
By renaming this bridge is telling the business that the Mahoning Commons Association is no more. This association is very informative and the firefighters have their memorial now lets have the businesses have theirs.
