TRANSPLANT GAME PARTICIPANT: Russell D. Beatty Sr., center, who has a new heart, will be in Pittsburgh this weekend to compete in the U.S. Transplant Games, an Olympic-style event for people with organ transplants. With him is his wife Ruth, and his grandson, Travis Beatty, who trains his grandfather in the shot put.

Realtor Jerry Altobelli supports an idea by Niles Mayor Ralph Infante to give a $500 city grant to GM employees working the third shift at Lordstown if they buy or build a home in Niles. Altobelli says the $500 of taxpayer money will be regained several times over in the new homeowner's taxes.

Trumbull County Deputy Dallas Young, Assistant Prosecutor Diane Barber and Newton Township Patrolman Tom Colosimo are among the officials who will speak at an organizational meeting of the Trumbull County Child Abduction Response Team Monday in Newton Falls. The team is being organized to provide trained personnel and resources to help find a missing or abducted child.
