Dr. Richard Esper and Bioness H200, a hand orthotic, which electrically stimulates fingers to open and close a separate box attached by a cord controls the time of opening and closing intervals. Esper has had the device, which insurance would not cover, for 4 months and he uses it 2-3 hours a day 4-5 days a week in an effort to reestablish pathways between the brain and the hand.
